How it works

Have the flexibility to define email retention policies according to their business needs which determines how long and what type of record will be stored.  Mail message attributes are checked against these policies and determines which records are to be archived. The solution can cater for both inbound and outbound mail, and can be configured to archive internal mail as well. The platform makes use of “single instancing” email and email attachments which reduces the storage needed for the archive.  Once the retention expires on the archived mail, the emails will be purged from the archive in a manner that ensures your intellectual property is discarded off, without compromise.

Security of the information store is attained by the About IT Online Mail Archive read only interface to the archive store, which enables you to search and read archived mail, but will not allow you to change the record once it’s been archived.

Data can be archived up to 5 years, and you will have the ability to specify an additional retention period at an incremental cost. The archival platform is deployed in a redundant configuration.

• The contract period for the pricing quoted above is 12 months.
• Pricing is calculated based on an average of 120MB of mail per month, per user.  Thus with a compression ratio of 75%, the 5 years of archiving per user equates to 3GB of storage aggregated across the entire base which is included.
